Inspired by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which recommends that parents and caregivers read to their children every day, in order to build language, literacy and social skills, author Rachael Cole spins this sweet tale of a mama mouse who reads to her infant. Every solar day, from the fourth dimension the mouseling is a newborn, she reads to and with him, eventually witnessing his emergence as an independent reader. One 24-hour interval, when he has grown up, he begins to read to his own baby...Mousie, I Volition Read to You is only the second movie-book from Cole, who fabricated her debut with the lovely City Moon , just it is an engaging title yet. A celebration of the bond between parent and child, and how that bond is strengthened and shaped past reading together, it will undoubtedly notice a warm reception with young bibliophiles and their parents. The accompanying artwork by illustrator Melissa Crowton is appealing, capturing the murine charm of the characters quite nicely. A letter from Pamela High, a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics, is included at the rear, and extols the many virtues of reading with children.

I have to be honest, when I first started this book, I thought it was going to be deadening, but it was, in fact, lovely. Sweetness and lyrical and soft and floaty, information technology was a really cute book promoting the value of reading, with a writeup from a pediatrician nearly the importance of early reading.

OMG. This book is going to be my next book that I purchase. I absolutely loved it and I do not have children of my ain yet. This book reminded me of "I'll Dear You lot Forever" by Robert Munsch....just I like it infinitely better.

Information technology is the story of a momma reading to her baby and all of the developmental milestones that come along the fashion. Mother and kid honey to exist together and Mom uses every opportunity to talk and read and bluntly, utilise every single early literacy exercise that in that location is (call up, they are singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing)

This book I would likewise give to my mom as a tribute. She taught me to read; she had this mentality and I carry it with me even now. Seriously. Read this book y'all

This book is just.... sugariness. It'southward super sweetness. It can be read to kids over and over, from the time they're tiny to the fourth dimension they've got kids of their own.
It covers so many milestones, both with language development likewise as just growing upwards - first words, a offset sentence, first "developed" conversation.

    Information technology's just.... it's great.

Insofar every bit storytime is for the kids, they will probably get bored with this book. Insofar as storytime is for the parents, A+ first-class lots of ideas almost encouraging literacy presented casually and lovingly.

I will probable use this book but change a few details (like proverb "Possibly yous volition read with your own kids" instead of telling toddlers information technology's a given that they're going to reproduce).

Parents looking to foster a lifelong love of reading will observe plenty of tips in the text and back matter of this pic book. From the time it is born, a mother mouse reads aloud to her child. Over fourth dimension, the child assembly reading with condolement and shared companionship. I loved how the child eventually is able to choose his ain books and read first one or two words and then the whole volume independently. Every bit the boy grows upwardly, he reads to his own stuffed animal friends, and so embraces books and ideas nearly which his mother never dreamed. As is the case with all gorging readers, he shares that love of reading with his own fiddling one many years in the future, the same book his mother shared with him. The text flows smoothly, making this volume a expert read aloud choice, and the digital illustrations feature appealing characters. Each scene shows the boy growing and the bond between mother and child forming as they share this reading addiction, truly the gift and dear of a lifetime. Librarians and classroom literacy teachers volition sigh in please every bit they peruse this book since it demonstrates so perfectly how to raise a reader. I finished it with a smile on my face and gratitude to my ain parents for all that they did to nurture my book love.
